Our 5 Best Selling Spirits | Wicstun Distillery

Wicstun Distillery's Best Sellers: The 5 Spirits Our Customers Cannot Stop Buying

Out of everything we produce, these five bottles are the ones that fly off the shelf fastest. Here is what makes each of them special and why they keep people coming back.

When you produce a full range of handcrafted gin, rum, vodka, and liqueurs, there are always going to be a few products that develop a life of their own. The ones that first-time buyers reorder within weeks. The ones that get gifted to friends who then place their own order. The ones that sell out at farmers markets before lunchtime. These are our five best sellers, and each one has earned its place through word of mouth and repeat purchases rather than marketing spend.

1. Pink Gin

Our pink gin has been the single most popular product since we launched it, and it is easy to see why. Made with real strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries rather than artificial flavourings or colourings, it has a natural fruitiness that you can taste immediately. The colour comes entirely from the fruit, which means it is a softer, more natural pink than the neon shades you see on some commercial pink gins.

What makes it a best seller is how approachable it is. People who think they do not like gin often change their minds after trying this one. The fruit softens the juniper and creates something that works brilliantly with lemonade, with tonic, over ice, or even in a spritz with prosecco. It is also the product that gets gifted the most. A bottle of pink gin is one of those presents that works for almost anyone, and when it is made with real fruit by a small Yorkshire distillery, it feels personal rather than generic.

Serve it with a light tonic and a few fresh berries as garnish. Keep it simple and let the fruit do the talking.

2. Caribbean Spiced Dark Rum

This is the one that surprises people. Visitors come to the distillery tour expecting to fall for the gin and leave talking about the dark rum. It starts with carefully selected Caribbean white rum and is infused with a blend of spices and natural flavours to create a spirit that is rich, warming, and genuinely complex.

The spice profile hits the right balance. It is warming without being aggressive, sweet without being cloying, and smooth enough to sip neat while still holding its own in a cocktail. A dark and stormy (dark rum, ginger beer, lime) is the classic serve, but it works equally well in a rum old fashioned or simply poured over a single ice cube.

This is consistently our second best seller and the product that generates the most unsolicited feedback. People contact us specifically to say they were not expecting to like rum and now they cannot stop drinking it. That is the best kind of compliment.

3. Toffee Vodka with Salted Caramel

The toffee vodka has built what can only be described as a cult following in East Yorkshire. It is made with real salted caramel, which gives it a richness and depth that artificial toffee flavourings cannot replicate. The salted element is what makes it work. It cuts through the sweetness just enough to keep the palate interested, which is why people who normally find flavoured vodkas too sweet end up finishing the bottle in a weekend.

The espresso martini serve is what really put this product on the map. Replace standard vodka with our toffee vodka in an espresso martini and you get a drink that is richer, more complex, and does not need any sugar syrup because the salted caramel provides all the sweetness. Once people try it this way, they do not go back.

It also works beautifully neat over ice as an after-dinner drink, stirred into hot chocolate on a cold evening, or mixed with cloudy apple juice for a long drink that tastes like a liquid toffee apple.

4. Aromatic Yorkshire Dry Gin

The aromatic dry gin is the spirit that started everything. It was the first product we developed, and it remains the foundation of the range. Unlike many dry gins that lean heavily on juniper, ours leads with cardamom and coriander. The juniper is still there, providing the backbone that makes it legally and recognisably a gin, but the cardamom brings a warmth and complexity that sets it apart from more conventional profiles.

This is the gin for people who already know they like gin and want something with a bit more personality. It is aromatic in the truest sense. The first thing you notice when you open the bottle is the cardamom, followed by the coriander and a subtle citrus lift. In a gin and tonic, the botanicals come alive against the quinine, creating a drink that rewards attention without demanding it.

It is also the product that tends to win over gin sceptics who have only ever tried harsh, juniper-heavy gins and assumed that was all gin could be. A measure of the aromatic dry gin with a good Mediterranean tonic and a slice of grapefruit has converted more non-gin-drinkers than we can count.

5. Scarborough Gin

Our Scarborough Gin was created as part of a collaboration with St Catherine's Hospice and has become a best seller in its own right. Made with kelp, cardamom, and heather tips, it has a distinctly coastal character that reflects its Scarborough inspiration. The kelp adds a subtle savoury, umami quality that is unusual in gin and gives it a profile unlike anything else in our range.

What makes this product special beyond the liquid itself is the story behind it. 17.5% from every bottle sold goes directly to St Catherine's Hospice. People are buying a genuinely excellent gin and supporting a charity that does vital work in the Scarborough community. It sells on its own merits as a spirit, but the charitable element gives people another reason to choose it, and many do.

Serve it with a quality tonic, a twist of lemon, and a sprig of fresh thyme to complement the herbal and coastal notes.

Try Them All

The best way to find your favourite is to try them all, and the easiest way to do that is on a distillery tour and tasting. Led by founder Jago Packer, the tour covers how each spirit is made and includes tastings of the full range. You will leave knowing exactly which bottles you want to take home, and you can buy them on site.

All five best sellers are available through the online shop with free delivery on orders over £50. Everything is handcrafted, vegan-friendly, and produced in small batches at our distillery in Market Weighton, East Yorkshire.

If you have tried one of our best sellers and want to explore further, the full gin range, rum range, and vodka range each contain products that are just as good as the ones on this list but have not yet had their moment in the spotlight. Every bottle has a story, and every one is worth trying.
